The A9 motorway (connecting Berlin and Munich) runs in a vertical line through Bayreuth. The best way to reach the University of Bayreuth is via the Bayreuth Süd exit. Bayreuth is one hour from Nuremberg via the A9 motorway.
North of Bayreuth, the A70 motorway runs west direction towards Bamberg.
The University Bayreuth offers free parking close to the conference rooms.

  • Munich – Nuremberg: 1:04 hrs
  • Frankfurt am Main – Nuremberg: 2:03 hrs

  • Munich airport is also accessible, but the journey to Bayreuth is longer. The best option is to take the ICE train from Munich to Nuremberg (1 hour).

Travelling in Bayreuth

Public Transport in Bayreuth
There are several ways to get around in Bayreuth: Firstly, Bayreuth is a city of short distances. Downtown, hotels, sights etc. are close to each other.  Many things can be reached by a nice walk. Cycling is also a popular way for mobility in Bayreuth. There are plenty of paths for cyclist. The university can be reached in less than ten minutes from the city center by bike.

Public Transport and infrastructure in Bayreuth are highly-developed. The buses run frequently, making it easy to explore Bayreuth without car and get to the conference venue.
